PitchMagpie
Proposal tracking

See exactly what your client read.

Every recipient gets their own link. PitchMagpie records when they open it and how long they spend on each section, and shows your team as it happens.

Reading time, section by section

The client's browser measures how long each section is actually on screen and sends it back. You see it per recipient: the founder read the approach twice; the finance director went straight to pricing.

  • Time on each section, per person
  • When each person first opened it, and when they were last on it
  • Insights across the last 12 months of proposals

Live, not a report you check later

Your dashboard and activity feed update through a live connection. When a proposal is being read, it says so, so you can time your follow-up for when they're thinking about it.

  • A live activity feed for the whole workspace
  • Notifications in Slack or Microsoft Teams
  • Webhooks for the first open by each recipient

Why per-recipient tracking matters

Most proposal tools tell you a document was "viewed". That's not much use when it went to four people. Because PitchMagpie emails each recipient their own link, every open, every minute of reading and every signature belongs to a real address. You'll know whether the person who signs off budgets has seen it at all.

Follow-up that happens on its own

PitchMagpie reminds anyone who hasn't opened their link a few days after it was sent, and warns signers who haven't signed in the last three days before the valid-until date (again if you move the date). You don't have to remember who to chase.

If a proposal email bounces or is blocked, the recipient is marked on the proposal, it shows in your activity feed, reminders to that address stop, and the sender gets an email. Fix the address or send again, and it clears.

What gets tracked

  • When each recipient first opened the proposal, and when they were last on it
  • Time spent on each section, per recipient
  • Options chosen, questions asked, fields filled in, signatures and declines
  • Deposit payments, once everyone has signed

Tracking measures time a section is on screen in the client's browser. It's there to help you follow up well, not to watch people: there's no third-party analytics on the client's page.

Questions

Frequently asked

Can I see if a client opened my proposal?

Yes. Each recipient's link records when they first opened it and when they were last on it, and your dashboard shows proposals being read right now.

Does it show which part of the proposal they read?

Yes. PitchMagpie records how long each section was on screen for each recipient, so you can see which parts got attention and which were skipped.

Will it remind clients for me?

Yes. Anyone who hasn't opened their link is reminded a few days after sending, and signers are warned before the proposal's valid-until date.

What happens if my email bounces?

The recipient is flagged on the proposal and in the activity feed, reminders to that address stop, and the sender is emailed so they can fix it.
