PitchMagpie
Open source, hosted for you

Proposals your clients actually read.

PitchMagpie is open-source proposal software. Build from your own library, send each client their own link, see which sections they read, and let them pick options, sign and pay a deposit in one place.

14 days free, no card needed. Then from £12 per user per month.

Everything in one link

From first draft to signed and paid.

Most proposals are a PDF sent into silence. PitchMagpie turns yours into a page you can follow, that the client can act on.

See what they read

Time spent on each section, per recipient, live. Know they lingered on pricing before you pick up the phone.

Proposal tracking

Let them choose

Optional extras, line and whole-proposal discounts, monthly and one-off prices. The total updates as they tick.

Interactive pricing

Signed in a click

Typed, drawn or uploaded signatures, several signers in order, and a signed PDF with an audit trail.

E-signatures

Paid on signing

Ask for a deposit and the client pays by card through your own Stripe account. We take no cut.

Deposits

Written once

Templates with guidance notes and a library of sections you reuse, so every proposal starts most of the way there.

Templates and library
How it works

Four steps, one page.

  1. Build

Start from a template, pull in sections from your library, and fill names and dates in automatically with variables.

  2. Send

Add signers and people who just need a copy. Each gets their own link by email, with optional approval from a colleague first.

  3. Follow

Watch opens and reading time arrive live. Reminders go out on their own to anyone who hasn't opened it.

  4. Win

The client picks options, answers your questions, signs and pays the deposit. You get the signed PDF.

Live activity

Know who's reading, right now

Every recipient has their own link, so each open, each minute of reading and each signature belongs to a real person. Your dashboard and activity feed update as it happens.

  • Reading time for every section, for every recipient
  • Reminders to anyone who hasn't opened their link, and before the proposal expires
  • Bounced emails flagged straight away, with reminders to that address stopped
  • News in Slack or Microsoft Teams as it happens

Built for real deals

More than a signature box

Ask for what you need before work starts: a purchase order number, a start date, which office to invoice. Answers are checked, go into the signed PDF, and can fill variables used elsewhere in the proposal.

  • Fields to fill in: text, dates, numbers, tick boxes, choices and initials
  • Sections that show only when an optional item is (or isn't) chosen
  • Six-digit access codes for sensitive proposals
  • Signing refused if the proposal changed since the client opened it

And the rest

The details that save an afternoon.

  • Several signers, in order

Send to everyone who needs to sign, and anyone who just needs a copy. Signers can go in a set order.

  • Variables

Use {client.company}, {proposal.validUntil} or your own like {project.start}. A proposal can't go out with one empty.

  • Approvals

Have an owner or approver look over a proposal before it's sent.

  • Fields to fill in

Collect answers from each signer with the signature, checked on the server.

  • Tables, timelines and video

Blocks for text, pricing, timelines, tables, video and your library sections.

  • Questions and declines

Clients can ask a question on the page, or decline with a reason, instead of going quiet.

  • Access codes

A six-digit code before the proposal opens. Five wrong tries lock the link for 15 minutes.

  • Passkeys

Sign in with an emailed link or code, and add passkeys for quicker sign-in after that.

  • API and webhooks

Read proposals, create drafts from your own systems, and get signed webhooks when things happen.

Every line of PitchMagpie is public, so you can check exactly what's tracked on the client's page and what's stored. We run it for you, and you can take your data with you as JSON and PDFs whenever you like.

  • Backups, upgrades and security fixes handled for you
  • Email deliverability looked after, with bounces flagged
  • Every feature in one plan, priced per user

FAQ

Questions, answered.

What is PitchMagpie?

PitchMagpie is open-source proposal software. You build a proposal from your own templates and library of reusable sections, send each client their own link, see which sections they read and for how long, and let them choose optional extras, sign, and pay a deposit, all on one page.

Is PitchMagpie really open source?

Yes. The whole application, the web app and the API, is developed in the open on GitHub. You can read the code, see exactly what's tracked and stored, and contribute changes.

How much does PitchMagpie cost?

£12 per user per month billed yearly, or £15 month to month, with every feature included and a 14-day free trial. Clients and recipients are free. See pricing.

How do I know if a client has read my proposal?

Every person you send a proposal to gets their own link. PitchMagpie records when they open it and how long they spend on each section, and shows it to your team live, so you can see that the client is on the pricing page right now, or that the finance contact never opened it.

Can clients sign proposals online?

Yes. Signers type their name, draw a signature, or upload a photo of one. You can have several signers, in a set order if you like. Once everyone has signed, each person gets a signed PDF with an audit trail, and each signature is tied to a SHA-256 fingerprint of exactly what was signed.

Can I take a deposit when a proposal is signed?

Yes. Ask for a percentage of the upfront total or a fixed amount, and once everyone has signed the client pays by card through Stripe Checkout. Each workspace connects its own Stripe account, so money goes straight to you. PitchMagpie takes no fee on top of Stripe's.
