Get the deposit while they're keen.
Ask for a deposit on any proposal. Once everyone has signed, the client pays by card on the same page, through your own Stripe account.
Signed, then paid, in one sitting
Set a deposit as a percentage of the upfront total or as a fixed amount. When the last signer signs, the client is taken to Stripe Checkout to pay by card. You see the payment in your activity feed.
- Percentage of the upfront total, or a fixed sum
- Card payments through Stripe Checkout
- Payment status on the proposal and in webhooks
Your Stripe account, your money
Each workspace connects its own Stripe account, so payments go straight to you. PitchMagpie adds no fee on top of Stripe's own. Refunds are handled in Stripe.
- Connect Stripe from workspace settings
- No platform fee
- Works with Xero: a draft invoice for what's due at the start
Why take the deposit with the signature?
The moment a client signs is the moment they're most committed. Asking for payment there, rather than in a separate invoice a week later, means work starts sooner and fewer projects stall between "yes" and the first payment.
Because the deposit is calculated from the upfront total, it reflects the options the client actually chose and any discounts, and leaves out monthly items like retainers and support.
